Our August 2024 release combines AI-powered functionality to save your team time with highly requested features from our users that improve project visibility and help your team consolidate your tech stack within Motion.io.

Here’s a list of the key features and functionality included in this release:

  • AI-Powered Form Builder
  • AI-Powered Template Builder
  • New Project Dashboard
  • Auto BCC
  • Electronic Document Signing
  • WordPress Client Portal Plugin
  • Various Improvements & Quality of Life Updates

AI-Powered Form Builder

Motion.io’s new AI-powered form builder allows you to create forms in seconds by removing the guesswork of what questions and information you should ask clients for in the forms you send them.

To use this new feature, navigate to your account’s “Forms” page and enter a description for the form you want to create into the prompt.

After you click “Create form,” Motion.io’s AI does the heavy lifting and will build the form for you. Then, after reviewing your form and making any final changes, you can easily attach it to tasks clients can complete directly in their Motion.io portals.

AI-Powered Template Builder

In addition to creating forms with AI, you can now use AI to create entire projects or templates, complete with all the tasks clients and team members must complete.

To use Motion.io’s AI-Powered Template Builder, create a new project and navigate to the “Tasks” page. Then, click “Try it now” in the banner at the top of your screen, and answer the questions as they appear in the modal.

Once submitted, Motion.io’s AI will create the tasks for your template, organize them into stages, and even create and attach the necessary forms…all automatically!

After having Motion.io’s AI create a project for you, you can manually add additional tasks and adjust any auto-generated tasks however you like.

New Project Dashboard

Since our last major update, our most frequent user-requested feature has been for a “home base” within each project that provides a high-level overview of the most critical updates and related information.

The new “Dashboard” page you’re taken to when clicking into a project does precisely this.

In addition to reviewing key details and reporting metrics, clicking on any individual section from the project dashboard will take you to the page where you can perform corresponding actions or view information in greater detail.

In the “Overview” section, you will see a new project progress tracker that displays the percentage of each project that has been completed based on its start and end date.

Auto BCC

From your account’s settings page, you can now navigate to the “Email” tab and open the “Auto BCC” section to specify an email address. After configuring an Auto BCC email, that address will be BCC’d on any emails Motion.io sends to clients.

Here are two examples of how you can use this new feature:

  • Enter the BCC address provided by your third-party CRM software to automatically log all email correspondence Motion.io sends to clients directly within their contact record in your CRM.
  • Set your Auto BCC to the email address of the inbox your entire team can access, enabling them to see a record of all emails Motion.io sent to a specific client.

Electronic Document Signing

Instead of juggling multiple platforms to manage contracts and agreements, you can use Motion.io’s new Electronic Document Signing to have clients fill out, sign, and submit contracts and agreements directly in their portals.

With this new functionality, you can turn your PDFs and other documents into signable contracts and agreement templates you can attach to tasks in your projects and templates.

WordPress Client Portal Plugin

Do you build or manage WordPress websites for clients?

If so, there’s another great feature included in this release you should know about: Motion.io’s WordPress Client Portal Plugin!

Using this plugin, you can provide a one-stop destination for customers to interact with you on their website projects, both during the buildout stage and for ongoing support once you take their website live.

Various Improvements & Quality of Life Updates

Along with dozens of minor bug fixes, this update includes significant performance upgrades to ensure faster utilization of Motion.io across devices and enhancements to existing functionality.

The most notable feature enhancements in our August 2024 release include:

  • Image Thumbnails: Images uploaded to Motion.io projects, portals, and tasks now include a thumbnail preview to help your team and clients more quickly understand which file is which before clicking on it.
  • File Attachments: In addition to displaying thumbnails for files you attach to tasks, we’ve improved and simplified the process for clients who need to download those files by adding a clearly displayed “Download” button in the upper-right corner.
  • New “Find Project” Zapier Action: This latest action makes connecting other tools to Motion.io via Zapier even easier by enabling you to search for projects using an ID, name, or client email. Click here to watch a video that showcases one of the ways you can use this new Zapier action.
  • Improved “Create Task” Zapier Action: With this product update, you can set dues and reminders for Motion.io tasks created using the “Create Task” Zapier action.
  • Form Attachments: In addition to fixing a bug that prevented forms with special characters in the tasks titled from being downloaded as CSV files, we’ve improved the mobile responsiveness for clients completing forms on mobile devices.
  • Apply Tags During Project Creation: When creating a project (either from scratch or a template), you can now toggle the “Advanced Settings” dropdown to apply a tag project before officially creating it.

That does it for our August 2024 release notes!
