New Client Portal Design
Client portals in Motion.io have received a major upgrade—featuring a refreshed design and a brand-new homepage built to enhance the client experience. They remain login-free, fully branded to your business, and customizable to showcase key project details and resources. It’s the same seamless interface your clients love, now with a more intuitive layout and a professional, polished feel.
- New Homepage Experience: The redesigned homepage displays all active projects a client is involved in, along with the Project Owner and real-time progress tracking—all in one easy-to-navigate view.
- Client-Based Portals: Portals are now organized by client instead of project. This means shared resources like Files, Chat, and Helpdesk are centralized at the top level of the portal, giving clients a clearer and more streamlined experience.
- Client Directory & Preview Access: From the Client Directory, you can preview any client’s portal with a single click and manage access more easily.

Kanban Project Management
Motion.io now offers two flexible ways to view and manage tasks in your projects and templates: List View and the brand-new Board View. You can easily toggle between them using the switch in the upper-right corner of the Tasks page.
Board View introduces a visual, Kanban-style layout where tasks are organized into columns based on their status. You can drag and drop tasks between columns to instantly update their status—making it easier than ever to manage project workflows at a glance.

Create Tasks from Client Messages
You can now turn client conversations into actionable tasks with just a click. Whether it’s a comment or a chat message in the Message Center, you can instantly convert client communications into internal tasks—helping your team stay organized and never miss a follow-up.
To create a task from a message, simply open the comment or chat in the Message Center and click “Convert to Task.”

Various Improvements & Quality-of-Life Updates
Beyond the headline features, this release includes several quality-of-life enhancements and performance upgrades that make Motion.io even more efficient for both your team and your clients.
Here’s what’s new:
- Require Review for Internal Tasks: You can now enable the “Require Review” option on internal team tasks, giving you an easy way to add an extra layer of accountability by having another team member review completed work before it’s marked done.
- Mobile Responsiveness Enhancement: We’ve improved task management on mobile by introducing a drag handle for reordering tasks—making it easier for project admins to stay organized on the go.
- Preview Portal Option: Team members can now preview how project tabs will appear in the client portal. Access the preview from the “Portal” page or by clicking “Client Portal” in the top-right corner of the Tasks page.
