Motion.io CRM, Message Center, and More! November 2024 Release Notes

Our November 2024 introduces two new dashboards and several new features focused on a single goal: making it easier, faster, and more convenient to manage client communications at scale in Motion.io.

Here are the highlights of what’s included in this latest release:

  • Client Directory (CRM)
  • Message Center
  • Bulk Message Sending
  • Attach Forms to Internal Tasks
  • Populate Custom Fields via Form Submissions
  • Various Improvements & Quality of Life Updates

Client Directory (CRM)

In addition to viewing information about the status of projects you’re running in Motion.io (which you can do from the Projects Dashboard and in the “Dashboard” tab of each project), there are also times when it’s necessary to surface information about recent activity and communication for specific clients.

The new CRM feature lets you search all the clients you’ve added to and quickly surface key information about them, such as what projects they’re on, what emails they’ve opened, and what recent activities they’ve performed in their portals.

Message Center

The new Message Center lets your team manage client chat messages and task comments across all your Motion.io projects in a single dashboard.

In addition to helping your team surface important conversations and respond to clients faster, the Message Center provides the option to respond to client task comments instantaneously using AI.

This article explains how the Message Center works and the tools it provides for managing client communication.

Bulk Message Sending

From your Projects Dashboard, the “Send chat message” bulk action lets you select projects from your dashboard and send a custom message to multiple client portals’ “Chat” page simultaneously.

Examples of how you can use this functionality include:

  • Re-engaging all projects at risk of delay by sending a check-in message to those without any recent activity.
  • Introducing a new department or team member when a group of projects progresses to a particular stage (for example, send a message introducing your customer success team for all projects marked “Complete”).
  • Updating all active projects about changes within your business, like new service offerings or holiday hours.

Attach Forms to Internal Tasks

Using the new “Attach a Form” option in internal tasks, you can include a Motion.io form that only team members can complete and that will remain entirely hidden from clients.

Populate Custom Fields via Form Submissions

Instead of manually setting the values for custom fields, you can now use the information clients and team members enter in Motion.io forms to do it for you.

This article provides step-by-step instructions for populating custom fields from the information clients enter in Motion.io forms.

Various Improvements & Quality of Life Updates

In addition to the key new features explained above, this release includes several minor additions to Motion.io, a handful of bug fixes, and enhancements to existing functionality.

The list below highlights the additional improvements and quality-of-life updates included in this release:

  • Improved Automations Interface: We’ve improved the UX of the interface used to create and manage project automations to make it faster and easier to understand what automations you’ve set up and how they relate to one another.
  • Multifactor Authentication: All plans now include multifactor authentication (MFA) for team members. After team members configure MFA in their account’s profile settings, Motion.io instructs them to enter a code each time they log in. .
  • Mobile Responsiveness Improvements: To help ensure forms are submitted correctly the first time, Motion.io’s drag-and-drop form builder now includes two additional field options: “Numeric Value,” which requires users to enter a number, and “Email,” which requires a valid email address.
  • File Approvals Bug Fix: Client annotations will be correctly associated with each file when sending multiple files for feedback and approval.
  • CSV Imports Bug Fix: The checkboxes for “Send welcome email to clients” and “Assign all project tasks to clients” now work as expected when creating Motion.io projects via a CSV upload.

That does it for our November 2024 release notes!
